21/09/02 SPLEN RELEASE EP! M SAMPLER CONTINUES APACE! M DISSONANCE QUITS JOB!
We're all right excited to announce that CELL02 will be "Splendiferous EP" by them Perth mentalists Splen. j. erm from the Pirates is putting the finishing touches to the production now, meaning it should soon be available to people other than us. see more on "Splendiferous" here.
The long-talked-about AmP comp/sampler, known as something along the lines of "Cell-Out 2002" is rolling on with the force of a massively heavy but not that fast thing going down a hill. like a tank, perhaps. bands who've confirmed so far are, alphabetically - 21 Eyez, Evol, Fairygrinder, From the Ashes, Germlin, Just Left of Nowhere, Saigon High Chair Pirates, Smoking Christmas Trees, Splen, The Wayriders, Threshold6, and Unsanctum. The AmP office is an orgy of hunting down more! new! bands!, chasing up tracks, and trynna get material recorded for some of the ones we just mentioned.
Embarrassingly i haven't done any updates since June, for which i can only apologise. i like to think of this site as being like the Forth Bridge. as soon as i've painted the whole bastard thing from one end to the other, it starts flaking off at the beginning again. anyway, i quit my warehouse job [which was, frankly, ass], so i may have more time to actually do new things soon.

29/06/02 EVOL EP M SITE UP
Rumour has it that AmP might be releasing an EP by riot grrrls Evol, which they're gonna be recording soon with G.E.R.M. and dissonance from the Pirates. provisional track listing is "Candy Soul", "Letters to Lishie", "No More", and "The Lesson I Have Learned" [but maybe not in that order].
This goddamned site is up at last.

25/06/02 SAIGON EP AND TOUR M SPLEN AND THRESHOLD6 REKKIDS
Saigon High Chair Pirates have completed the new EP, "Plural[s]", which should be getting released soon: we'll keep ya informed. the tracklist is confirmed as "The Skinny", "[Im]Pulse", "Laptop Riots", "Amoebic Interlude", "Point of G" and "Buying In". the EP is notable for its extraordinarily unnecessary use of brackets. we're also in the process of writing and recording the next Saigon EP, which may or may not be called "Yes! Another great courtesy car brought to you by the Saigon High Chair Pirates", will definitely feature contributions from Stun Gun Eddie and the Vitamin B Complex, a [so far] 9-piece brass band, and may or may not include "The Equaliser [Rounds Two and Three]" and "16 Tons". the EP may also end up as a mini-album, depending on how many of the tracks we write are good and how many are guff.
Saigon may also be undertaking a short tour of the United Kingdom with Chester jazzers Just Left of Nowhere. we don't know much about it, but it will be ace.
In other news, AmP is planning to release new records by Perth metallers Threshold6 and the mysterious and indescribable Splen. Threshold are great, sounding like a more extreme Dillinger Escape Plan; Splen used to do MIDI black/death metal, but now they're recording with a live band in a studio, Christ knows what's going to happen.
